Please exercise extreme caution when installing. LCD may break if put under too much pressure or dropped. The storekeeper offered that they could do a screen upgrade as well to get brighter and sharper colours, but it would involve. Here is pair of pictures from another game, taken on the AGS-101 model of the Advance SP (which has a brighter, backlit screen). Backlight kits that have been installed are not eligible for replacement or return. I just took everything to a shop yesterday to get checked out and got my advance SP rechargeable battery replaced, and replaced the save batteries in my Pokémon game cartridges. If you say you had an SP with multiple brightness levels, it must have been a modded unit. Well yeah, they released a second model of the SP that had a brighter screen than the other one, and if the brighter screen draws the same amount of power as the older one does, then I suppose you could take the screen out of the new one and put it on the old one, but I don't see why, if you already had two perfectly fine SPs, you would want to. The AGS-001 can only be on or off, and the AGS-101 is either dim or bright. If you are unsure how to perform a dry run, please contact our support team and we will be happy to help. The only GBA that has brightness settings is the GB Micro where you hold a shoulder button and press the volume switch to adjust the multiple brightness levels. All ribbon cables should have no bends or creases in them. This includes the use of adhesives, brackets, and any performed soldering. A dry run or test fit means the kit is not installed in the shell. Test before installation! When you receive a backlight/LCD kit, you should perform a dry run before installing to assure that nothing has been damaged in transit. If you received an extra lens in your order, this was likely a included plastic lens with a shell and should NOT be placed on top of the pre-adhered lens. Removing pre-adhered lens from LCD can result in damage to the LCD and will void product warranty. To counter this a lot of GBA games have very bright saturated colors, and when you play those games on a DS lite they look very bright & fruity. You do not need to purchase a separate lens. I think the issue is that the original GBA had a very dark screen which made the colors look less vivid, and the original SP front light made the colors look washed out even though it was brighter. There is a black protective film covering the LCD.Supports brightness adjustment, soldering required.Shell modification required on non-IPS and OEM shells.1x IPS Backlit Screen with glass lens pre-adhered.
